Cause & Effect

He that would make his own liberty secure must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself.

3 Poisons

Fundamentally, anger, greed and ignorance are at the root of all suffering. They are known collectively as the 'three poisons'. For example, anger is the cause of physical violence and war. Greed is behind the wastage of natural resources and pollution of the environment, ultimately leading to starvation and poverty. Ignorance, which means being blind to the consequences of our actions, causes disease. It is imperative, therefore, to deal with these 'poisons' if we are to free ourselves from suffering.

The World

The world we want to see around us
is the world we must cultivate within.

Questions for my country

If Americans were allowed to choose a currency that was not subject to inflation (loss of value), I believe we would. But we are not allowed to do this. Instead we are forced to conform our economic activities to a counterfeit regime that financially enslaves everyone but itself. How do we change this so that we all enjoy the peace and prosperity we deserve? How do we transform our nation into a land of truth and greatness? How do we become an America that we can all be proud of?

Us & The Dust

The world is not a fixed, solid array of objects, out there, for it cannot be fully separated from our perception of it. It shifts under our gaze, it interacts with us, and the knowledge that it yields has to be interpreted by us.

Note To All Governments

War and oppression are not acts of courage

Saturday Night Jukebox

For everyone out there, like me, who thinks this song is awesome.
I see the problem start
I watch the tension grow
I see you keeping it to yourself
And then instead of reaching conclusions
I see you reaching for something else

No one can stop you now

Joy & Sorrow

The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.

Creativity means to push open the heavy, groaning doorway of life itself. This is not an easy task. Indeed, it may be the most severely challenging struggle there is. For opening the door to your own life is in the end more difficult than opening the door to all the mysteries of the universe.

But to do so is to vindicate your existence as human beings. Even more, it is the mode of existence that is authentically attuned to the innermost truths of life itself; it makes us worthy of the gift of life.
