For those who didn't understand yesterday's post
Every year I look up information about the number of the age I am becoming to see if I can find anything of interest.
The number 42 is, in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, "The Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything," which is calculated by an enormous supercomputer over a period of 7.5 million years. Unfortunately no one knows what the question is! Thus, to calculate the Ultimate Question, a special computer the size of a small planet using organic components is created and named "Earth."
The picture I posted yesterday is of a "magic cube," constructed in such way that every row, column, corridor, and diagonal passing through the center has numbers whose sum is 42. I don't know who came up with it but I thought it was cool.
Another interesing thing about 42: In 1966, mathematician Paul Cooper theorized that the fastest, most efficient way to travel across continents would be to bore a straight hollow tube directly through the Earth, connecting a set of antipodes, remove the air from the tube and fall through! The first half of the journey consists of free-fall acceleration, while the second half consists of an exactly equal deceleration. The time for such a journey works out to be 42 minutes.
Have a great day, all ;)

Relinquishing Belief
I do not believe that suffering is the necessary and inevitable condition of human beings here on earth. I do not believe that the essence of life is misery.
Resignation to uncontested suffering is merely passivity, a failure to take responsibility for one's own existence.
To take responsibility for our existence, we need to relinquish the belief that frustration and defeat are our natural and inevitable fate. That belief which is sometimes upheld as an expression of higher sophistication or wisdom, is in fact a default on the very challenge of being alive, of being conscious, of being human.

The Cool Before The Warm
This is my favorite happy song. There is some tremendous musicianship here, particularly from the drummer, whose blazing snare patterns sound really fun to play. Great bass line, good melody, cool lyrics, and a nice horn section to complement a very well crafted song. Thank you, Style Council.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
